TransFolk of WA now Incorporated

As of today, Friday October 20, 2017, TransFolk of WA is officially incorporated.

Nick Lawrence, Founder and Chairperson of TransFolk of WA, is excited about what being incorporated will mean for the organisation moving forward.

“Trans Folk of WA has come a long way since it began as Trans men of WA in 2012,” said Mr Lawrence.

“Being incorporated means we can continue to provide vital peer support to trans people in Western Australia.”

The Certificate of Incorporation was issued by the Government of Western Australia acknowledging Trans Folk of WA as an association incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015.

TransFolk of WA is the only trans specific peer support organisation in Western Australia.

The peer support TransFolk of WA provides is particularly important given that trans people are at higher risk of poor mental health and suicide compared to the general population.
